As interested in music as I was, there was time to develop my second love - athletics. Football, basketball, baseball, track, culminating in a football scholarship to the University of Washington, Seattle. This picture was taken in my sophmore year, after the first game of the season, where I kicked a 51 yard field goal. When you hold and play a Volbrecht guitar, it is just like making that field goal. It's a long story for another time how I morphed from being a football player into a guitar builder . . .
